Name: Ariana
Canon: Pokémon
Age: 40
Appearance: Ariana is a strikingly beautiful, voluptuous woman with cherry red hair and eyes to match. She wears dangling gold earrings and arrives in hell in a black turtleneck and pencil skirt with black heels. She has a tebori back piece of her main companion, Arbok.
Canon Point: After HeartGold/SoulSilver but before Sun/Moon
Background:
Born in Celadon City in Kanto, Ariana was fourteen before she found out that the casino her parents ran was actually a front for Team Rocket activity. Determined to make a place for herself in the family business, she worked her way up the hierarchy from the lowest grunt work to Giovanni's executive. Anyone suggesting she received any recognition because of her parents or her (eventual) partner had their Pokémon trounced in battle, and if they persisted, had their asses handed to them personally.
At the age of 24, she had a child with Giovanni and named him Silver (bloodlines are important in Team Rocket- Gio's mother was the first Boss). While she didn't regret her decision, Ariana had never imagined herself as a motherly person and was somewhat detached (as was Giovanni) as her son grew up. Eight years later, as most people know, Giovanni was thrashed by an eleven-year-old in battle and made the decision to shutter Team Rocket.
A note: on its face, an adult leader of a devious criminal organization with ties all over the globe getting beaten by a literal child doesn't make any sense- unless you sit down and really think about the concept of massively powerful creatures that are immensely bonded to their trainer. In Pokémon canon, there was once enough of an uprising against humans hurting each other that it became a cultural rule to allow Pokémon battles to decide- pretty much every dispute, really. If you're an ordinary citizen with maybe a Pokémon or two, you're not a challenge to a genuine criminal. A talented trainer, on the other hand...
You can kill an eleven-year-old easy, but his six insanely overpowered monsters who are losing their minds in rage over his death? Not so much.
Anyways.
The Team didn't disband, they went underground- without their leader. Ariana, with her fellow executive Archer, led them as they developed a new base in Johto. This culminated, three years later, in the takeover of Goldenrod Tower- which was, humiliatingly enough, also overthrown by an eleven year old.
The years since have been- rough. Even though their day-and-night broadcast didn't reach their former leader, they still cling on to hope that Giovanni will return with exhausted fingertips. They keep up the business but Gio's core four- Arianna, Archer, Petrel, and Proton- are worn down. Loyalty is foremost in an organization like Team Rocket and they will be loyal to the end (see also: yakuza structure and priorities)... but it's been years.
Eventually it pays off! Rainbow Rocket is a thing. Unfortunately, Ariana lands in hell first.
Personality: Sultry, seductive, confident, and condescending. A good gauge on her temper is how ridiculous her pet names are.
Weaknesses/Temptations: Who says Ariana has any interest in redemption? She knew she'd end up down here sooner or later and she has very little faith in the promise of a way out. Her main concern is going to be, as it always has been, working her way to the top- and seeing what weak points she can exploit along the way. Her weaknesses are back home, and she can be tempted by any number of sins on offer.
Sins:
1. Murder
2. Aggravated assault
3. Torture
4. Theft
5. Animal (Pokemon) cruelty
6. Child endangerment
7. Leading others into sin
8. Fraud
9. Substance abuse
10. Deception
11. Wrath
12. Lust
13. Greed
14. Envy
15. Pride
Powers/Abilities: None of the magical/otherworldly sort, since her Pokemon didn't accompany her. Ariana is trained in hand to hand combat and is a stellar shot. (Guns are business. Knives are personal.) That aside, in her world she (co-)leads a massive criminal organization that has ties in every region, so business sense and knowing how to play her cards right is up there. She's used to being an incredibly competent human in situations that can very quickly be WAY over her head even WITH her Pokémon, so she knows how to tread carefully and gather information.
Items:
- a handgun
- ammo
- a knife
- a pack of cigarettes
- a lighter
- a syringe filled with an experimental drug made with sleep powder
